We run buggy tours on Mount Srđ — the karst ridge directly above the Old Town. On the Self-Drive Buggy Tour you drive a brand-new automatic Can-Am Maverick behind a lead guide, departing every 30 minutes from the upper cable-car station past Fort Imperial to viewpoints over Lokrum and the Elaphiti islands. On the private chauffeur tours your guide does the driving and collects you from your hotel. Helmets and briefing are always included, and every departure is guide-led. That’s the whole business, and this page is about the people behind it.
From one machine to a Maverick fleet
Paula Vuković started this company with a single second-hand buggy and a conviction that the best view of the city is from the ridge above it, not from inside the walls. That first machine ran the same trails we ride today — the gravel tracks across Mount Srđ, the backroads behind Bosanka.
Today the fleet is brand-new, fully automatic Can-Am Maverick side-by-sides — 2-seaters and 4-seaters, so couples and families each get the right machine. We’ve stayed small on purpose: convoys are capped at five buggies so the guide can see every one, and the person who answers your message is the same person who checks you in at the meeting point. Guests seem to notice — our tours hold a 5.0 average across 750+ Google reviews.
The team
Our own team photography is being produced and will replace this placeholder shortly. Here’s who you’ll deal with in the meantime.
Paula Vuković — Founder & Tour Coordinator
Paula grew up below Srđ, built Dubrovnik Buggy from a single machine, and still answers every inquiry personally — usually within the hour during working hours. She plans the departures, matches groups to the right tour and is the voice on WhatsApp before and after your ride.
Ivan Radić — Lead Guide & Fleet Mechanic
Ten years guiding the plateau trails and a workshop full of spare parts — Ivan leads the tours and keeps every Maverick running. If a machine isn’t exactly right after his morning check, it stays in the yard. His call, every time.
How we think about safety
Off-road driving is only fun when nobody is guessing, so every tour follows the same four rules:
- Briefing before every ride. A briefing at the meeting point covering the machine, the route, hand signals and convoy spacing — before any engine starts. Part of the route uses a public road, so the briefing covers the traffic rules too.
- Helmets, always. Included with every buggy and worn by every driver and passenger, no exceptions, including children.
- Guide-led convoys. A lead guide sets the pace on every departure, and convoys never exceed five buggies. Nobody overtakes the guide, and the group only moves as fast as its least experienced driver is comfortable with.
- A maintained fleet. Ivan services every machine between rides — brakes, belts, tyre pressures — and logs every check.
Drivers need a valid driving licence, shown physically at check-in, and must be 18 or older; passengers need nothing at all. Children ride as passengers from age five (ages 5–11), always beside an adult; from 12 they count as adults. The full rules are in our terms & conditions.
Where and when we run
Self-drive departures leave the upper cable-car station on Mount Srđ — next to the Panorama restaurant — every 30 minutes. Private tours skip the meeting point entirely: your guide picks you up at your hotel or apartment in Dubrovnik. The season runs March to November, daily, 09:00–19:00; outside those months, message us and we’ll see what’s possible.
